It is officially week four of my portfolio project! This week, me and my partner heavily focused on finalizing what mise-en-scene elements we wanted to utilize in order to create a theme for our film opening. Yesterday, we confirmed our location and today we decided what we wanted to do for our costumes.
Location:
I previously mentioned how yesterday we confirmed our filming location for our film opening. My partner talked to a couple of the boys on the basketball team that we had planned on working with as extras for our scenes. They said that we could talk to their coach to see their schedule and when they would be available. Their coach said we have to go to the head of our sports department just to confirm when the courts would be available since our other sports teams practice there as well. We decided that filming next week would be best for everyone's schedule. We have already confirmed our actors and extras and are currently gathering our necessary equipment.Costume:
Since the main character in our film is a cheerleader and the first minute-ish of the film is her at cheer practice, she will be in a cheer outfit (that our actor already has for the school) along with the extras (the other girls on the cheer team. The outfit fill look something like this except with our school logo and colors. Her makeup will give more cheer glam than natural, but obviously not a full beat. Her hair will most likely been in a high slick back ponytail.
For the guys, it will be a very similar vibe. They will be in our school basketball uniforms and probably look more sweaty. As for the main character, when he picks up the lead female in the car he will also be in a similar sweat seat to her but maybe in gray to create some contrast.
