Location Scouting
For our first course of action, me and my partner plan on planning and developing a couple of possible locations to film. The aura of this film is supposed to be suspenseful, dark, eerie, and a bit creepy. As mentioned in previous blog posts, we want the contrast from the beginning of the opening to the end of the opening to be very drastic so the audiences can perceive the purpose more accurately, so finding locations with the specific lightning we are aiming for will be key.
Our School
The main objective we have is to film directly at our school. Since the main character is a cheerleader as well the actor we chose, we felt it would feel most realistic and accurate if we filmed at our actual school. Filming at a high school gives it a more innocent and youthful feel which we want to perceive for the beginning. Since it will feel more innocent in the begging, it will really help the ending feel more mature.
Airport
When the main character leaves with the suspicious suitcase and bag of drugs, we thought it would be very interesting if she booked a flight and went to the airport. The reason this may be a little difficult is the realism of it, drugs won't make it through an airport. The thought me and partner had though is the main character is a very professional and high level criminal, so she would find a way to make it past security and find her way out of all the loopholes. Overall, from a realistic perspective because the nearest airport is pretty far, this may be a difficult filming spot.
Middle of Nowhere
If the airport idea doesn't work, then we had the idea that we could find a pretty much empty area near us and film there. This idea works well as well because since it will be in the middle of no where, it creates a lot of what if for the movie. Also, the emptiness of the area can represent how much little information is given in the film opening. I feel like areas like this just represent that something is suspicious or that something will go wrong.
