Blog Posting Activity

Short description of the directions of the activity:

During this activity, we were given a list of 9 mandatory shots we had to utilize into our project out of 15 total shots. We then had to quickly gather a story with a random inanimate object, as well as to create a shot list with our planned out shots and angles and where they would take place. Then, we put together all the photos on a presentation format with the title of whatever angle or shot used, along with a detailed explanation of why we chose that angle or shot in our story.

A summary of how you approached the development of your final product:

I decided that with my project I wanted to make it clearly obvious of what was going on in the story to the audience. For example, if she dropped her AirPods, you can clearly see the AirPods case falling out of her hand. Or, if she’s terrified, you can see the emotion in her eyes as they widen as big as baseball balls. I approached it this way because it makes it enjoyable to watch without being confused of what the plot is the entire time.

Reflection on what I did well and what I would improve:

I think I honestly did really well on utilizing different and an accurate variety of shots in my project. The photos were super clear and upfront of what was going on the story and visually it looked really good. I do think I could’ve improved on my analysis though. It was a little to short with not a lot of detail which kind of defeats the whole purpose of an analysis, so next time I’ll make sure to really explain why each shot or angle was chosen for each scene.

Here are a few examples from my project:
